Clean Mac for Developers Privacy Policy

Clean Mac for Developers finds developer caches on your Mac and moves them to the Trash. Everything happens on your device. This page explains what the app can access and what it never does.

1. Summary

The app does not collect personal data from you or your device. Nothing is sent to a server, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or tracking.

The app has no permission to use the internet and does not need network access to work.

2. File and folder access

The app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. It can only reach folders you pick and allow in the system open panel (for example your home folder).

So that it can remember your choice on the next launch, macOS stores that permission on your device as a security-scoped bookmark. You can remove it at any time in Settings > Advanced > Folder access.

For the cache folders it finds, the app reads only the name, path, size and last-modified date. It does not read, copy or transmit file contents.

3. How files are removed

The app never deletes files permanently. Items you select are moved to the Finder Trash, where you can restore them.

Nothing runs without your confirmation. Dry-run mode shows what a cleanup would do without changing anything.

4. Data stored on your device

These items are kept only in the app's preferences on your device and never leave it:

  • Language, appearance and other settings
  • The list of protected paths (whitelist) and custom folders you added
  • Cleanup history: date, size freed and item names
  • Bookmarks for the folder permissions you granted

5. Notifications

If you allow it, the app can show a local notification when a scan or cleanup finishes. Notifications are created on your device and use no server. You can change the permission in macOS System Settings.

6. Third parties

The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or other third-party services or SDKs.

7. Children's privacy

Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either. It is rated 4+ and offers no content aimed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page and the update date at the top changes. If a feature that collects data is ever added, this page will be updated first.
